Scottish Highland elopements
My favourite thing to photograph!
Getting out exploring in the highlands and having the privilege to witness such an amazing moment.
In case you’re thinking that the idea of eloping to Skye seems daunting to arrange from a distance - you can relax - It’s not!
I’m more than happy to help with the finer details of planning your trip for your Isle of Skye elopement.
I’m lucky enough to live on the island and have a wealth of knowledge of the local area.
That’s not limited to helping plan the timeline of your day. I can show you some of most epic, secret spots for your ceremony and adventure that you can have entirely to yourself.
I can help you to find your perfect celebrant and organise the paper work required, give you some great options to stay and eat (traditional, quirky or luxurious), I can even help to get a local witness for you if you need one for the legal ceremony.
If you need florist recommendations, pipers or even a local kilt maker I can point you in the right direction.
I want to help you to make the most of your trip as well as well as organising your day easier. It’s a real point of pride for me.
When we make a commitment to working together you’ll get 100% of me. I’ll help in any way I can.
*This local knowledge is completely free of charge but I hope you’ll understand that this purely for coupes that I work with.
For me to be with you for a day of adventure coverage is from £3700 with the only other costs being accommodation if a night away is required.
Elopement coverage and smaller weddings on The Isle of Skye start at £2800 for up to 4hrs and £3350 for up to 6hrs but I’m more than happy to tailor a package that suits exactly what you are looking for.
I’ve included some slideshows below. I’d grab a cuppa and watch them full screen.
How to Elope on the Isle of Skye
Here are a few simple steps to help you plan a relaxed, meaningful Scotland elopement without the stress.
1. Choose the right time of year .
Skye is beautiful in every season, but the light and weather change a lot. Spring and autumn are perfect for softer colours, quieter locations, and those dramatic skies Scotland is famous for. Summer brings long days and golden evenings, while winter elopements offer moody landscapes and peaceful, empty hillsides.
-
2. Pick a location that feels like “you”.
From the Quiraing and Fairy Glen to hidden coastal spots and rugged cliff edges, Skye has endless options for elopement ceremonies. The best place is always the one that feels personal—somewhere you can breathe, take it all in, and just be together. Your photographer (hi!) can help guide you to locations that suit your vibe and your accessibility needs.
-
3. Sort the legal bits .
To legally marry in Scotland, you’ll need to submit marriage paperwork to the local registrar at least 29 days before your date. It’s a simple process, and you can choose a celebrant, humanist, or registrar for your ceremony. Many couples planning Scotland elopements start this step early so everything is stress-free.
-
4. Build a small team you trust .
A great elopement on Skye often includes just a few key people—your photographer, a celebrant, and sometimes a florist or musician. Pick people who know the island well and can help with travel, weather, and local insights so your day flows naturally.
-
5. Lean into the adventure .
The magic of an Isle of Skye elopement is in the experience—wandering along cliffs, reading your vows in the wind, or finding a quiet spot just for the two of you. The more open you are to the landscape and weather, the more unforgettable your Scotland wedding day becomes.
