Frequently asked questions

Every wedding is different but I'll try to cover as much as I can here.  Please get in touch with any other questions.

I only take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure the highest standard to every client.

What packages do you offer? My most popular option is time based coverage with digital files. I also offer additional products: albums, prints and engagement sessions.

Are the files high resolution and can I print them? The files are high resolution and not encrypted in any way. They can be backed up, printed etc. They are provided under licence to the couple for their use only. Professional prints can also be ordered via my online gallery.

Do you take formal family shots? That's entirely up to you. These can be particularly important to family members and I'm happy to shoot them. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times they have not been requested.

Do you edit the images? Although post production work is essential, I choose not to over process my images. Instead I prefer to keep them clean and real. Every image presented to you will be enhanced whilst maintaining its classic and timeless feel. Please have a look through some of my work in the portfolio and journal sections where you'll find plenty of images consistent with my style.

Do you retouch the images? Generally noI can remove temporary blemishes etc but any further requests are quoted separately.

Do you do everything? As far as the photographs go…absolutely! I'll meet with you, I'll be there on the day and I'll carefully edit your images. I have 100% quality control over the entire process and will ensure you get the best possible product throughout!

Do you have a second photographer? I usually shoot by myself. I can provide a second photographer as an option and am happy to discuss the pros and cons. I’m a firm believer in the fewer cameras being thrust in your face, the better.

Do you work with filmmakers? If you are thinking of having your day filmed then it’s super important to make sure that people are on the same page about how they approach your day. I’m more than happy to offer advice and recommendations.

Can we meet? Absolutely! I think it's very important to get to know each other and make sure that our personalities are a good fit before we move forward.

Are there any extra costs?

A bite to eat - (generally just for full day weddings) On your wedding day I am there from before you put your dress/suits/kilts on until well after the first dance. I have to keep alert and creative for the whole day so a bite to eat when you are having your wedding meal is most appreciated. For private events there is often nowhere for me to buy food so I have included it in the contract. It doesn't have to be anything fancy and a bar meal is most welcome.

Travel

  • If I can drive home after the wedding, there is no cost. (distance limitations apply)

  • If it's a late night or very early start then I'll need a place to stay. Somewhere clean, dry and secure is perfect.

  • If there is a flight required that will be added to the cost.

  • At destination weddings, if car hire is needed that will be added also.

 Engagement Shoot

  • Engagement shoots are available and it all depends on how adventurous you want to get. Let me know and I can give you a quote.

How do I book my date with you?

First - Send me an email via the contact page with details of where and when your wedding is.

Second - We'll have a chat and arrange a meeting. I'm based on the Isle of Skye, Scotland so happy to meet for a coffee locally or via Skype/Facetime if distance dictates. I can be flexible around working hours. We can have a look through examples of my work and go over your day. Assuming that we are a good fit for each other we can move on to the next stage.

Third - I'll send you a contract and details of how to pay the £500 booking fee (deducted from final balance). Once the deposit is paid your date is secured and the booking is confirmed.

Closer to the wedding day I'll be in touch to get an updated version of the running order (when it's all confirmed), so that I know exactly where to be and when.

Please get in touch with any other questions.

Thanks, Andrew
